Requirements
- Learn how to properly care for and fold the United States Flag. With your den or pack, participate in a flag ceremony.
- Identify three points of the Scout Law that are important to being a good neighbor.
- Build a model of your home.
- Using the same materials from requirement 3, create a model of a building that you visit.
- Using the models built in requirement 3 and 4, create a neighborhood.
- Participate in a service project. Explain how your volunteering is helpful to your neighborhood.
Tips and Tricks
- If your time (or patience) is limited, consider using Legos to create the models. Using cardboard and recycled items may take significantly more time.
- The neighborhood model is combination of all the models currently built.
- Consider linking the service project with a Pack service project if time or opportunities are limited.
Special Needs Consideration
- Consider using alternate tools or materials to build the models with Scouts that have tactile issues. A tablet, for example, may be helpful for some Scouts.
- Keep in mind when planning the service project to keep in mind any mobility issues that may require additional planning or an alternate activity.
