Requirements
- Sample three different foods that are naturally three different colors. The food much be a protein, vegetable, fruit, dairy, or grain.
- Demonstrate the proper way to brush your teeth.
- Be active for 30 minutes with your den or at least on other person. That includes both stretching and moving.
- Be active for 10 minutes doing personal exercises.
- Do a relaxing activity for 10 minutes.
- Review your BSA Annual Health and Medical Record with your parent or legal guardian. Discuss your ability to participate in den and pack activities.
Tips and Tricks
- The annual review of a Scoutβs BSA health and medical forms is a new requirement for each rank. These forms are required for various Scouting activities. However, I would recommend completing only the forms required for parents/guardians to fill out.
- I personally donβt like adventures that require food. I recommend tasking another adult(s) to bring a few different food from the color wheel in the handbook.
- Remember that for the 30-minute active time includes 10 minutes of warmup and 10 minutes of cool down.
Special Needs Considerations
- As innocuous as it may sound, food textures may require some extra consideration. Having parents assist with this may help mitigate this.
- Discuss any limitations your Scout(s) may have with their parent or guardian. Attempt to work within those limitations as best you can.
